Use Social Media To Be Social

advice from Evan Cobb

Too often businesses use their social channels to do 24/7, non-stop promotion of themselves rather than using social media for what it is intended to be…social. Just because your business page is on Facebook doesn’t mean every post needs to be a product showcase or an ad. Use social media to engage with your audience and provide them with value
outside of just products & services.

“Most small businesses make the mistake of using social media to blast their followers with promotions. Research shows this may actually turn consumers off and make them tune out your posts.

However, if you put the ‘social’ aspect in your digital marketing and provide valuable content to your target audience, they will be much more likely to pay close attention to the few promotions that you mix in there.”

Engaged with your audience and work towards building trust and brand loyalty, rather than using your profiles to essentially be online billboards.
